Ratsitting

You know your family needs a pet rat when...

*You talk about your former pet rat, dead for 11 years now, as if he were part of the family, and have a framed photo of him in your home
*Your daughter asks if she'll finally be able to meet the aforementioned rat after she dies
*You BEG your rat-owner friends to allow you to rat-sit whenever they leave town
*When you finally DO get to rat-sit, your children spend hours talking to and discussing the borrowed rat

And finally...

*You throw a birthday party for the rat that you have borrowed from your friends, because it IS his birthday, and that's just common decency.

Happy Birthday, Scratchy!

And thanks, Audrey, for lending us your little friend for a week!

That's it. We're getting you a rat for PJ's b-day. You supply the house, the food and the love and we'll buy you the darned thing. You really MUST have one to call your own.

So cute! That reminds me of my beloved Fluffy who had a litter of 11 babies who were so small that they kept climbing out the mesh of the cage. But luckily they stayed pretty close to mom still in the cage.

For real?!? I wish we would have known. Chris was looking for someone to babysit our 2 rats a few weeks ago. If we had only known.....
