Summer Soliloquy

We toured the Middle East
while grandma watched our beasts
We spent hours at the pool
Played with friends oh so cool
We frolicked around Austin
So long as it wasn't costin'
Our mornings were lazy
Now that memory has grown hazy
Because the summer is ending
And it is, frankly, heartrending.
